Our mission is to promote good will and cooperation among its members; to foster trade and commerce in the Village of Wurtsboro; to render constructive civic services for the promotion of the welfare of the community and of the citizens of the Village of Wurtsboro. Monthly meetings are open to all.
WURTSBORO — On July 6, Wurtsboro will close Sullivan Street to welcome thousands of visitors to the annual Founder's Day Street Fair, which always promises to be a day of family fun.From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., vendors will be set up and down the street selling their arts and crafts, goodies and foods. Children can have their faces painted, go on rides, challenge the rock wall, or visit with Truth Muller for his free bat education series.Bring a lawn chair to enjoy live music from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Midnight Slim kicks off with the Blues, the Bootlegger's Band brings soul, the Carl Richards Band keeps country strong, the Ponytails take you back to the 1950s and Third Degree East brings a classic rock finale. O'Toole's Harley-Davidson is hosting the band Hot Rod throughout its bike show and Danny's is hosting Midnight Slim at 2 p.m.At 1 p.m., a One Woman Truck Pull will take place featuring the team Hot Tempered Steel with Billie Jean Mcloughlin and Lainie Sleppin, along with a lumberjack carving demonstration at which they will be carving benches that will later be auctioned off.Rifka, the psychic medium from Rifka's Curiosity Shop and Bill The "Wizard" from the Crystal Connection will offer psychic readings throughout the day.This year will see the return of the WBOT wheelbarrow raffle, a fundraiser in which a new wheelbarrow filled with gifts and other surprises is donated by local merchants on Sullivan Street.
